Gautam Gambir, a classy batsmen, an outstanding leader, two time trophy winning captain and a sensational opener. Gambhir played 4 seasons for Delhi Capitals and then went to KKR and became a cult figure. When he is in the middle, he rarely gives anything to the bowlers, he is so technically sound that it is really hard for the bowlers to bully him around. Gambir with over 4000 runs in this competition is also the 10th highest run getter in the tournament. Although he only smacked 59 sixes in his Indian premier league career, but his average is a proof, how technically strong and gifted he was, he score 4217 runs, with an staggering average of 30+ and strike rate of 125.88

9.Shane Watson :

Shane Watson was voted as the most valuable player in the inaugural season of IPL. Interesting fact about Watson is, he is 13th in the list of highest run scorers and 17th in the list of highest wicket takers in IPL. In 2016 Watson retired from International cricket, but kept playing in the IPL. He was picked by RCB, where he had a horrible season. But Watson was picked up by CSK then, where he had one of the best IPL seasons under the leadership of MS Dhoni. He almost single handedly pulled up an outstanding comeback in the 2019 IPL season, but fell short by one run. Shane Watson played 134 matches and scored 3545 runs with an average of 28+ and stuck 177 sixes in his IPL career.

8.Shikhar Dhawan :

Shikhar Dhawan is one of the finest openers in world cricket right now and is also the 5th highest run getter in Indian Premier League. In Dhawan’s 158 innings, he scored 4579 runs at an impressive average of 30+ and is also the only batsmen in the IPL History to hit 524 fours in the competition. From the last few seasons he played an impressive second fiddle role for the club and notched many 30+ scores.

7.MS Dhoni :

This guy doesn’t require any introduction, he is India’s favourite child Mahendra Singh Dhoni. One of the best finishers in the world, generally known for his late hitting, stumpings and cool head in tense situations. He plays for CSK, one of the most decorated clubs of IPL. Under his captaincy, CSK reached 8 times in finals and won 3 times. Dhoni has scored 4432 runs in his IPL career with an average of 42 and struck 200+ sixes.

6.AB de Villiers :

The south African legend, Mr 360 aka Ab de Villiers has been one of the few players who made IPL so successful. Gutsy and Glamorous both at the same time, this player can smack any bowler on any part of the ground. Just his presence in the crease can make any bowler nervous. He plays for Bangalore and on many occasions he raised above all and saved the day. The amount of runs that he has scored, tell us why he is regarded as the best batsman in the world. He scored 4400 runs in his 152 innings with an average of 39, he also smacked every bowler with an outrageous strike rate of 150+, the only thing lacking in his IPL resume is the trophy.

5.Rohit Sharma :

Mumbai boy and one of the finest Openers in the world, highest run getter of the World Cup 2019, the Hitman aka Rohit Sharma. What should I tell this guy? He is an absolute legend, he is regarded as the most classy and gifted batsmen of this generation. Rohit Sharma is currently the only player who has managed to win 4 titles as a captain of Mumbai Indians and the only player who has won the cup 5 times. He is definitely the most decorated player in the IPL. In his 183 innings, he managed to score 4898 runs with an impressive strike rate of 120+.

4.Chris Gayle :

The most tough thing to digest is the fact that Chris Gayle has left the RCB side. It is really hard to imagine the Universe Boss playing for any other side. He has been a major factor in increasing the brand value of Royal Challenger Banglore. Gayle had an impressive campaign in both 2011 and 2012. He managed to score the highest runs in the tournament and was awarded with Orange Cap. Gayle in 125 innings, has scored 4324 runs with an impressive average of 42, and is one of the few batsmen to have a strike rate of 150+.

3.Suresh Raina :

The second favourite child of Chennai, Suresh Raina aka Mr Consistent. He is one of the few batsmen who has consistently delivered for his club, he might have struggled in last few seasons, but before that he was untouchable, till date no one has matched the consistency with which he has delivered for the club. He played a major role in all the three titles that CSK managed to win in IPL. In Fact he is the 2nd highest run scorer in IPL History with an average of 35+ and smacked the ball all over the park with a strike rate of 140+ . Suresh Raina is also the only player to play 190+ matches in IPL.

2.Virat Kohli :

Virat Kohli, the best batsman in the world in all the three formats. He is regarded as the only batsman, who can break the master Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Although his IPL career was not as brilliant as that of Suresh Raina or David Warner. But soon when he was appointed as a captain of RCB, he took his batting talent to some other level. He along with AB de Villiers and Gayle, managed to score some really big totals for RCB. He is the highest run getter in Indian Premier League, with 5412 runs at an average of 39+. Virat Kohli is only behind David Warner, in terms of scoring half centuries in IPL.

1.David Warner :

The Australian talent house, David Warner. He is probably the only foreign player who has outsmarted local talents like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. David Warner has a habit of scoring runs in important matches, not only that his consistency in all the IPL seasons is just amazing. He right now is the only player to score 500+ runs in 5 consecutive seasons. In 2016 he was made captain and he led his club to their first title. He showed his class and leadership qualities. In just 126 innings, he scored 4700 runs at an average of 43 and strike rate of 130+.
